I had to wait!!

Wait for  what you say?!!

Well after watching the new reporting of the  passing of Michael Jackson Thursday @ 6:115PM EST I just wasn’t ready to blog about it yet.

Quite frankly I am still not but had it not been for one of my readers on another blog I write I probably would of let others out there in cyberspace blog about this tragedy.

Now to add salt to the wound TMZ has posted the 911 call from Michael’s  Neverland home. Listen if you dare

I remember when I was a young teen and going the the Front Row (now extinct) in Highland Heights, OH and seeing Michael. I was sitting next to my dad and Michael ran up the aisle and boy did I let out a scream. lol! He held me back I was about an inch from him and could smell is cologne. I was so mad at my dad for stopping me but only realized that later he was protecting me from being trampled.

Anyway a great musical icon has left this world to pursue a new adventure. Deepest sympathies to the Jackson family my prayers and the worlds go out to you all during your time of sorrow.

A magnanimous musical icon

A magnanimous musical icon

I had a friend pass earlier this week and there is an old wives tale that says death comes in threes. Well I was on alert.  Farrah Facet,  my friend and Michael Jackson. As long as I have been alive it has happen like this. Yes I know there are many more deaths that go on but these  are of ones in my direct eyesight.

I was absolutely in disbelief when I was watching the news. I said to a friend I don’t believe it you know how the news is  lets wait for an update. Of course the were plastering Michael Jackson is dead all over the ticker message at the bottom of the screen. Then the report of him not breathing and then in a coma and then the final report of him being deceased.

I was numb.  He was just there and now he is gone. Life and death being in an instant I was reminded.

Now Myspace and Ning networks have dedicated Michael Jackson fan pages and I am sure there are and will be more to come

Listen to his music and enjoy the nostaglia of the memories of where and how old you were when these songs graced your ears.  I know from Thursday to Friday night I have been innodated with the sound of  Michael Jackson and what memories theses songs have evoked.

OH NUTS!!!

pistachio nuts on utellit.wordpress.com blog

I can’t believe it my favorite nuts are the cause of major recalls over the next days.

Alright you pistachio lovers we have to leave those nuts alone!

The FDA has reported cases of get this possible salmonella contamination. We barely got over the peanut recalls and now this. Ooops, I had some peanuts the other day. Oh well I am doing fine thanks for asking.

The discovery in Fresno, Calif was reported yesterday, Monday.

We have been warned to not eat pistachios or pistachios products. Goodbye trail mix, ice cream and just plain ole’ pistachio nuts.

What makes me chuckle here is that they want us to hold on to the nuts and nut products so that they can be turned in for tracking purposes. Now really do you think we are going to do that, c’mon. 😉 In the trash they go talk about money down the drain.

I would rather be safe than sorry though.

Already two people have called the FDA complaining of gastrointestinal illness that could be associated with the nuts.
Nothing has been confirmed yet.

California is the second-largest producer of pistachios in the world, wow!

The California based company Setton Pistachio sell nuts, dried fruit, edible seed was voluntarily recalling a portion of the roasted nuts it has been shipping since last fall. A Setton spokeswoman said that amounts to more than 2 million pounds of nuts. Last year, what!!

This was discovered last Tuesday when Kraft Foods Inc, notified the FDA that it had detected salmonella in roasted pistachios through routine product testing. Of course Kraft and their subsidiary recalled their Back to Nature Nantucket Blend Trail Mix the next day.

Hey reader did you hear about this? I sure did. Thank goodness I didn’t have any pistachios or pistachio products. Just think last Saturday I was really thinking about going to the store and getting some pistachio ice cream really I was, lol!

More of the story here…

We haven’t heard the end of this major recalls will be going out in the next few days so spread the word to everyone you can.

This has been a public service announcement.

Be healthy 🙂

What would you do?

Things never cease to amaze me in this world.

The latest Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, R-Fla., received a phone call from President-elect Obama and hung up on him. OMG!!!

Full Story Here!

Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen

The State of a new Secretary

Well sometimes I think I have E.S.P. Every since president-elect has started addressing the needs of this country with his transition team on http://www.change.gov ( I would advise you to go there sometime if you haven’t), it seems that I am able to think as he seems to with what needs to be done. Can I be that in tuned with what president-elect has in mind. Is it just too common sense to know these things.

Now I am sure that I will not like every move that he makes but so far so good. What better than to make Senator Hilliary Clinton the new Secretary of State. I am just elated and glad that they both decided that this was a great move for the country. She is already beginning to outline her plans and boy this is really going to be an exciting time for the country with a renewed strength and involvement for all the American attentive public.

Get involved American in some way no matter how big or small. We all can make a difference.

CyberSuicide and Cyberbullying

I was just floored. As I get older I think nothing can just shock me down to my toes and make be turn colors but as I live longer, I find that this is just not true.  Is is the holiday time that brings about so much strife and depression in the lives of people.  Everyone is looking for someone to love, connect with and feel a part of anywhere, anytime, by any means necessary.

Well yesterday a college youth took his life he was bipolar and on medication.  Abraham Biggs wrote a suicide note stating how much he hated life and himself and wanted it all to end. While on streaming video @ Justin.tv he video taped himself engulfing a handful of his medication while gradually the last breathe of life escaped his body while he was taping himself.

The chatroom to his session was open while people thought it was a joke, some were egging him on, some were cracking jokes. The news has stated that it may have been different if someone was in the room with him and they most more than likely would have stopped him form committing suicide.

The video stopped streaming as the police was called by someone taking an active part. When the local police got there Bigss was dead.

There is so much to this that is just outrageous, wrong and bizarre it really just infuriates me. Since when did we as a country take someone talking about killing themselves as a joke? We have schools that have no tolerance rules for kids bring weapons, drawing weapons, or even talking about weapons where they can be suspended or expelled from school.

He was depressed beyond what we could imagine. We have no idea what it means to be bipolar and on bipolar medication. Unless you have the condition you just don’t understand.

Abraham Biggs, 19, died Wednesday from a toxic combination of opiates and benzodiazepine, a drug used to treat insomnia and depression, said Wendy Crane, an investigator with the Broward County medical examiner’s office. At least one of the drugs was prescribed to him and it’s unclear how he got the others, Crane said.

Granted those watching may have not know about his condiion but to instigate, joke, poke, cyber-harass this college student is just deplorable regardless.  Cyberbullying yet again assist in taking another life. From my previous blog post about Cyberbullying.

It just shows how this menace is still prevalent, increasing and being unchecked in our society. How many more lives must this phenomenon assist in claiming a life?

Here is a memorial page I found for the college youth

His myspace page has been I am sure taken down as condolensences have poured in.

His family is devasted. Pray for his family.

$700 billion for my friends!

Wow just when you thought we were debt free! I hope you know that I am being facetious here. Our country is in so much debt that it isn’t even funny! Our economy is the worse it has been in centuries and by goodness now groceries are out of this world. I know that you probably have heard all this before but really to ad insult to injury we have the $700 billion governmental bailout.

Want you to think about this who is going to eventually pay for this?

Well Congress is thinking they voted this morning and well read it here!

10-6-08 Well over the weekend it seems that after a revision all is a go for the bailout. Although many feel that it won’t help we can only be prudent, watch and be mindful of what this is supposed to do for our economy. Have a thought let me know what you think? The universe wants to know! 🙂

A Shaq Slap!

Shaquille O’neal will loose his special deputy badge due to an inappropriate language he used in a rap video that mocks former teammate Kobe Bryant.

Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, said he is not having that at all. He wouldn’t expect any of his deputies to conduct themselves with such behavior and will not tolerate this type of racial conduct. He wants both of Shaq’s badges back.

Shaq gets slapped by sheriff for rap about Bryant

“I was freestyling. That’s all. It was all done in fun. Nothing serious whatsoever,” O’Neal told ESPN.com Monday. Well Sheriff Joe Arpaio said you can be free.

What I think….being a role model should mean something in this day and age, when there are far and few in between.  When a person has positioned themselves in a  public office to be a public servant, the public is expects a certain behavior to be above the rest. That is all!
